Terms of service
This Agreement is entered into by and between Choice First Dog Training ("Trainer") and the "Client" upon purchase of services. This Agreement outlines the terms, conditions, and responsibilities of both parties in connection with the dog training services provided by the Trainer. By paying for services from Choice First Dog Training, the Client agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
1. Services Provided by Choice First Dog Training
1.1 Commitment to Ethical Practices
Choice First Dog Training is committed to providing positive, humane, and scientifically proven dog training. The Trainer uses ethical training methods supported by the latest research in canine behaviour, psychology, and learning theory.
1.2 Prohibition of Aversive Methods
The Trainer will never use force, fear, intimidation, or aversive or punitive tools (e.g. prong collars, choke chains, or e-collars).
1.3 Dog-Centred and Human-Centred Approach
Training is tailored to the needs of both the dog and Client(s) with a focus on creating a positive learning environment.
1.4 Professional Referrals
If the Trainer determines that the dog's or Client's needs exceed their expertise, the Trainer will refer the Client to a suitable, accredited professional.
1.5 Ongoing Professional Development
The Trainer is committed to continuous improvement through self-study, workshops, courses, and seminars from accredited organisations.
2. Client Responsibilities
2.1 Honest Disclosure
The Client agrees to provide honest and accurate information about their dog's history, behaviour, and known issues to ensure safe and effective training.
2.2 Commitment to Training
The Client commits to attending all scheduled sessions and practicing the training exercises provided. Success depends on the Client's active participation and consistency.
2.3 Assumption of Responsibility and Risk
The Client assumes full legal, moral, and financial responsibility for their dog's behaviour and actions at all times, including any risks associated.
2.4 Consent for Media Use
Unless otherwise specified in writing, the Client consents to the Trainer capturing photos and/or videos of their dog during training sessions for advertising, educational, or promotional purposes.
3. Booking, Cancellation, and Payment Policies
3.1 Cancellation or Rescheduling by Client
Cancellations or rescheduling of sessions must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled session time. Sessions cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable and paid in full.
3.2 Payment Terms
Payment is due at least 48 hours before the first scheduled session. No refunds can be issued once the training programme has commenced.
3.3 No-Show Policy
If the Client fails to attend a scheduled session (in-person or virtual) without prior notice, the session is non-refundable and considered paid in full. The Trainer will wait up to 15 minutes before ending the session.
3.4 Trainer Cancellations
If a session needs to be cancelled due to extreme weather (hot/cold/wet) you can request to reschedule or move your session to online. In the rare event that the Trainer must cancel or reschedule a session due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, the Trainer will provide as much notice as possible and offer an alternative session time. Refunds cannot be given in these circumstances. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
4. Liability Waiver
The Client acknowledges and agrees to the following:
4.1 Dog training can involve inherent risks, including but not limited to injury to the dog, Client, Trainer, or others, as well as potential property damage.
4.2 The Client assumes all responsibility and liability for their dog’s behaviour and actions during and after training sessions.
4.3 The Trainer is not liable for any damage, loss, injury, or death to persons, property, animals, or the Client's dog as a result of the dog’s behaviour or participation in training sessions.
4.4 The Client indemnifies and holds harmless Choice First Dog Training and its Trainer from any and all claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to the services provided.
5. Agreement Acknowledgment
By making a booking with Choice First Dog Training, the Client acknowledges they have read, understood, and agree to the terms outlined above. The Client further acknowledges that they are entering into this Agreement voluntarily and with full understanding of its terms.
